World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage. A boost upgrade is a way to alter the defense or attack attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear. Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of how much it will increase after a future reset. The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it's possible that the item will become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to double or even eliminate the chances of failure, and some upgrades that provide the benefit of being reinserted into an item. Glyphs Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels. In the endgame, you will often find that the best way to enhance your gear is by placing Glyphs. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and offer a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board. Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit. The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item. When an item is upgraded by a player it is replaced with a new item of the same type. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This can be a downside in that the item could become more expensive even if you do not need it. The upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens to do so. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with the level 1 base, and a completely different set of bonuses. This can be beneficial however it should not be used frequently as it can waste resources. Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives an increase in power if the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. The item can be upgraded multiple times and increases the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP as the best version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.
